Fighting Addiction Together  ·  We Do Recover

I've seen what addiction steals. I've also seen what recovery gives back.

There is no high, no money, no win that compares to watching the light come back on in someone's eyes.

Until a Real Person Reaches Out
The Real Problem

I didn't want to die. But I didn't want to live.

I remember how hopeless I was. I didn't know how to live without my solution — the drugs and alcohol.

Here's the truth: the drugs were never the real problem. I was my problem.

I was restless, irritable, discontent. Nothing was ever good enough. I tried to fill that big hole in my soul with money, girls, cars, clothes — nothing worked. The drugs worked for a while. Eventually the consequences piled up and the drugs stopped working too.

At that point I was left with the person I hated the most: me.

I needed a new solution.

The Solution

A tiny seed of faith

I went to treatment to gain separation from the substance. They told me: trust a higher power, clean house, and help others.

I said I didn't believe in the God concept. They said: "You had faith that whatever your drug dealer handed you would work, right? That was a higher power. You just have to know that you're not God."

So I put just a tiny seed of faith in the program. Because I saw it work for others.

In time, that seed grew.

I got honest. I stayed open-minded. I took suggestions even when I didn't want to. And little by little, life got better — way better than the life I prayed to get back.

Recovery didn't give me my old life back. It gave me a life I was this close to never having.

Why I Built This

In helping others, you all helped save me too.

I built this page and these groups early in my sobriety, when I needed purpose just to stay sober.

There is nothing — nothing — that compares to watching the light come back on in someone's eyes. To see someone who was buried in pain, addiction, and self-hatred start believing in themselves again.

That's everything. That's my why. That's my purpose.

What Nobody Tells You

Not all treatment centers are built equal.

Most just detox people, send them to sober living, and expect them to figure it out.

But the First Step doesn't just say we're powerless over drugs and alcohol. It says we can no longer manage our own lives. That second part of the equation is the whole thing. Had I found a treatment center that worked with me on that, maybe it could've been a one and done — which should always be the goal.

Instead I was passed around like a hot potato, from one center to the next, until it equaled over

Treatment Centers

"He just has to want it."

That's what the admissions and business development people — who are nothing but salespeople — kept telling my family. Clearly I wanted it, or I would not have kept trying. I didn't know how to live life anymore. At least not without my solution, which was drugs and alcohol.

Then I finally met someone named Sean, and he introduced me to HEAL Culture.
It changed my whole perspective. He taught me how to live life on life's terms —
and how to succeed in doing so.

Heal Culture — Our Purpose

It's not just getting off drugs.
It's about achieving life.

Life

Building a life where using that first one isn't worth burning down the life you have achieved for yourself.

And by helping ourselves, it in turn helps our loved ones, our communities, and those we give back to and help. That's Heal Culture. That's the ripple.

We Are Different

We are not a support group.
We are a family.

Treatment Centers

Send you to a facility and move on.

Done when you leave.

Us

We walk through every step with you.

We are just getting started.

You stay. You heal. You help others. You pay it forward.
That is the cycle. That is how we grow.

The Opposite of a Sales Pitch

We are the anti–business development.

Here's how it went for me, over 50 times. The admissions rep talks to you on the phone and makes you feel like you just made a new friend. They promise they'll come visit you on your third or fourth day. Not once did that ever happen.

A lot of the time I'd find out they weren't even in the same state as the treatment center. They worked out of a call center in the middle of nowhere, and they got paid based on how many beds they filled.

You were never a person to them. You were a bed.

We are NOT associated with, referring for, or paid by any specific treatment center.

Nobody here fills beds. Nobody here earns a commission. Not one center pays us a dime. We answer to the person who needs help, and no one else.

We help people find the right place for them.

Not the place that pays the most. Not the place with the slickest phone rep. The right place for you, your situation, and your recovery.

I never suggest someplace I haven't been to. No one on my team does.

Every recommendation comes from someone who has walked through that door themselves. Lived experience, not a brochure.

No Means. No Insurance. Still Family.

EVERYONE deserves a chance to Heal.

I know what it's like trying to get help with no means, no resources, and no insurance. That's why we take the time to actually understand the person we're talking to — to get to know them — and then do everything we can to help them find someplace that will take them.

And when someone finishes treatment, we don't just move on. We show them how we made it out, and we walk the walk beside them.

Why You Can Trust Us

Lived experience. Nothing to gain but your recovery.

Rehab Experiences

I've been to detox and treatment over 50 times. I've seen what works and what doesn't — the good programs and the predatory ones. When I recommend a treatment center, I've been there. My suggestions are backed by real, lived experience, not profit motive.

We Know the Difference

I've walked through programs all across the USA — the ones that actually care about people getting better, and the ones that don't. We aren't tied to a single one of them. We just help you find the right place for you, backed by lived experience. Not every rehab is created equal, and I know the difference firsthand.

0%

Not Business Development Reps

I've been lied to by reps who will tell you anything to get you in the door. They care about their commission. We are the opposite. We have nothing to gain besides what counts the most: seeing people get real help and return to life happy and healthy.

The Truth

If you knew me back then, you'd never bet on me.

I was the guy in the back of meetings who didn't talk, didn't believe, didn't think I could ever get clean. I went to detox 50+ times.

But something changed. I watched enough people get sober that eventually I told myself, "If they can, maybe I can too."

And that one tiny bit of hope is what saved my life.

Early sobriety is brutal. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. It's uncomfortable, emotional, and lonely at times. But if you stay. If you don't quit. If you do the work even when it hurts…

Life does get better. And not just "a little better" — better in ways you can't even imagine yet.

I've never met a single person who truly committed to recovery and said, "I wish I never did this." Not one.
